2004 NASCAR Champ Helps Make Charity Event Big Success

Jiffy Lube® joined forces with Pennzoil® to host the Pennzoil Change for Charity event in Orlando, FL on Feb. 15. The two-hour oil changing event was held at the Jiffy Lube® location on Conroy Road and featured Kurt Busch, the 2004 NASCAR Nextel champion, helping the Jiffy Lube® team to break the record.

Hundreds of local residents lined up for the fastest oil change they'd ever seen. Busch and the Jiffy Lube®-Pennzoil® Pit Crew team performed 116 consecutive oil changes in an hour, easily beating last year's record of 58. More than 35 Jiffy Lube® crew members hustled to complete the oil changes, which equated to changing nearly two cars per minute and pouring more than 18,500 ounces of oil. The campaign, benefiting the Children's Safety Village of Central Florida--which implements children's injury prevention programs--raised more than $3,000 in just a few hours. Pennzoil® offered free oil changes to the public during the time frame and donated the "sale" to the charity.

Kicking off before the Daytona 500, the event is part of a nationwide tour tied to six prestigious races in the US in which a donation will be made to a local charity in each market by Pennzoil®. Click here to read a local news article about the event.
